Approved explanatory abstract
A communication system performs participant-specific negotiation and selective distribution of accessibility services within an ongoing real-time communication session. A session controller receives participant-associated descriptors identifying accessibility requirements or capabilities, validates each descriptor against session policy and available service capability, and conditionally activates a corresponding accessibility processing pipeline only when an authorized participant requires it. Resulting captions, translation, audio description, enhanced audio, sign-language interpretation, or avatar video are routed only to authorized participants while other participants continue receiving primary media. Participant joins, departures, preference changes, policy changes, or service faults trigger re-evaluation, modification, substitution, or teardown of the pipeline and routing state while the session identifier is preserved and the originally negotiated signaling and media security context is reused, without a new SIP Call-ID or WebRTC PeerConnection. Decisions and state transitions are recorded against the same session timeline.
