Filed abstract
A computing system manages delivery of auxiliary media during a pre-primary communication state of a communication session. A session controller establishes or accesses a session identifier and associated session context, determines that an endpoint is in a pre-primary communication state, obtains authorization information from a communication platform authorizing auxiliary media delivery within an interface associated with the communication session, processes rule data and endpoint state, retrieves a selected auxiliary media asset, routes and renders the selected auxiliary media asset within the established session context, detects transition of the endpoint into a primary live communication phase, and modifies, terminates, preserves, or records auxiliary media state based on the transition. The auxiliary media operations occur within the established session context without creating a new session context, a parallel media session, or a renegotiated security or transport context.
